Allegations concerning the government’s shut down of all VOIP communications in Egypt, making communication harder between Egyptians and the outside world, have been silenced as people have started making and receiving calls from yesterday. As there were no official statements made to clear this issue, we have no confirmation if these allegations were true or were merely the result of a technical error on the side of the service providers.

According to El-Borsa newspaper, telecommunication companies have denied the shutting down of VOIP in Egypt and claimed that any difficulties faced while using the applications concerned with VOIP are due to slow internet connections in some areas.

So rest assured everyone. Your communication with the outside world is safe and sound!
