Al Jisr

Yesterday, the 1st and 2nd episodes of the new Egyptian apocalypse show, Al Jisr, premiered on ShahidThe new Peter Mimi show consists of 6 episodes and stars Nelly Karim, Amr Saad, Mohamed Alaa, Asmaa Abu Al-Yazid and Sarah Al-Shami.

The show is full of mystery, suspense and excitement. So far the audience feedback has been positive and people are already looking forward to watch the coming episodes. But before that, let us tell you what we thought of the first two episodes in this spoiler-free review of Al Jisr.

Cast

Al Jisr

First of all, we would like to applaud Nelly Karim for her impressive performance in Al Jisr. It’s quite different from anything she has done before. We totally loved her style and her cold-blooded killing.

Amr Saad made us live the survivor’s life after the apocalypse. If you’ve watched apocalypse movies before, you can certainly relate to Amr Saad‘s performance. He’s always trying to save his son from any danger and keeps going to reach the bridge!

We also can’t forget to commend the performances of the rest of the cast, especially Asmaa Abu Al-Yazid, who appeared in a very unique role.

Story

Al Jisr

Al Jisr belongs to the post-apocalyptic genre. After long years of wars, life ended on earth and people were forced to live in small groups ruled by ruthless leaders.

If you like survival and manhunts shows, you will absolutely love Al Jisr where Noa7 and his son Nagy survive on a long journey to the bridge. The show also talks about ‘Al Mosta3mara” which is ruled by the heartless leader Dalida (Nelly Karim).

Al Jisr reminded us of the Walking Dead’s Negan. Although the show is not about zombies, we could still correlate between the settlements of the Walking Dead and Al Jisr.

Visual Effects and Soundtracks

Peter Mimi is one of the best directors whose works are known for impressive visual effects and soundtracks, and Al Jisr didn’t disappoint..

The soundtracks are very suitable for the show’s vibes, and the visual effects of the manhunts and the gunfire were indeed incredible.

We definitely recommend Al Jisr; it’s an interesting show where the audience get to experience the Egyptian apocalypse and how it looks like.
