Against the backdrop of the recent and ongoing events, the Xposure International Photography Festival (Xposure 2024), happening from February 28 – March 5 in Expo Centre Sharjah, has highlighted war and the devastation caused by it as one of the central themes of the 8th edition.
A grey epitaph with nearly 100 names of journalists and media workers who have tragically lost their lives while reporting Israel’s war on Gaza, greets visitors to Xposure in a grim reminder of the war in the neighbourhood. The epitaph reads: “In honour of the courageous journalists who offered their lives to show us the truth. Their legacy is a ceasefire call for peace.”
